THE BRIEF
Leo and Roobs is a new Manchester-based cafe from the owners behind award-winning pub & restaurant The Black Friar.
As a brand new business, Leo + Roobs required a compelling website to reflect its anticipated popularity. With the concept based on the owners children and their handwriting and drawings, it was essential that the website echoed key elements of the branding – modern, playful, artistic simplicity, and a relaxed social scene. The new website also needed to provide easy navigation, and effectively guide customers to an online order service.

We didn’t want to overload users with information, so we developed a one page website that’s easy to navigate and enticing to use on phones, tablets, and laptops, so that people can make orders on the go to collect later on. We sprinkled in key information about the business – location, menus, how to book and how to order, along with ‘call to action’ buttons in the form of animated stickers. Also, developing the website in a CMS means it’s easy to edit and scalable for any future expansions or developments.
The website refresh has been a great success – directly increasing table bookings and putting bums on seats, demonstrating how effective restaurant website design can support even the busiest hospitality businesses.
